December, four former West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Dennis fire appliances
start the long journey from Sussex to Kursk.

Complete with ladders, portable pumps and generators leaving Tangmere. Chichester.

The shipment also included a sea container with 1000 pairs of almost new fire boots, 450 sets of personal protective clothing, 80 fire helmets, 125 chemical protection suits, 25 gas protection suits, resuscitation equipment, radiation meters and assorted vehicle spares.

Having cleared customs at
St Petersburg, a convoy of 3 of the Dennis appliances leaves the docks for a local fire station to await the arrival of the fourth vehicle, due to arrive the following week, before being driven to the Town of Kursk.

Journeys end for our first convoy.
One of the Dennis being reversed into an appliance bay on arrival in the Town of Kursk. The long and difficult drive illustrated by the condition of the front of the vehicle.
